Valentines Day Event for the Veterans at HEP

By far, our favorite event of the year, is when we spend Valentines Day with the Veterans and their service animals at the Homeless Empowerment Project! We fundraise for months, gather up supplies and donations to bring to HEP and have a party with our friends in need. We gather all the essentials for the animals to include food, beds, toys leashes and collars; but we love to add some gifts for the veterans too! Basic essentials to include hygiene products, shirts, socks and we also like to add a special gift each year as well to include things like Bluetooth headphones! We gather all these supplies and make party baskets for them, to which they love to open and enjoy with us at the event while we all eat lunch, share stories and appreciate what life has to offer. These veterans and their service animals have become like family to us, as we continue to keep in touch and help whenever they need anything for their animals!
